Logos Temple
We are a small Golden Dawn Temple, located in eastern North Carolina, teaching and practicing the Western Mystery Tradition.
What is the Golden Dawn?
Logos Temple Mission Statement: Our temple aspires to teach seekers theurgic (invoking or evoking rituals of higher divine forces to induce spiritual transformations) magic in the Golden Dawn tradition in order to raise consciousness, enable spiritual transformation, and serve humanity.
History: The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, more commonly known as the Golden Dawn, was a secret society devoted to the study and practice of occult, metaphysical, and paranormal activities during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A magical order, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn was active in Great Britain and focused its practices on theurgy and spiritual development. Many present-day concepts of ritual and magic at the center of contemporary traditions were inspired by the Golden Dawn, which became one of the most significant influences on 20th-century Western occultism.
Logos Temple follows this historical tradition by continuing to educate promising aspirants in esoteric knowledge and ritual magic.
Where are we?
We are located in eastern North Carolina. Please note, all candidates will be expected to regularly attend (monthly) in-person meetings for ritual practice, initiations, and fellowship. Additionally, it is expected that members engage in regular self-paced study. In some cases, members at large will be allowed to remain on the roster on the condition that they attend sessions quarterly. Accepted candidates should expect a probationary period of one year.
Requirements for admission.
Potential candidates should have at least one year of experience in the Western mystery tradition. Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the fundamentals of qabalah, astrology, alchemy, Tarot, and other metaphysical concepts. Additionally, candidates will be screened for psychological aptitude.
Applicants are required to be over the age of 18, should be capable of walking up stairs, and should be able to tolerate incense.
